Digital health innovation is at the core of our mission. "E-Health Mom" is a digital maternal and child health system developed and owned by TibaSalama Digital Health Foundation under its Founder and Executive Director, Simon Mashauri (patent holder). The system is designed to monitor and support mothers from pregnancy through a child's first five years of life.
Its goal is to improve the safety and well-being of mothers and children aged 0–5 by ensuring continuous care and close follow-up. The system operates in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Local Government Authorities (LGAs), with the additional objective of strengthening the linkage between Community Health Workers (CHWs) and healthcare providers-particularly within the Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) department. It also focuses on building capacity in the proper use of patient data systems, including accurate data entry and understanding the value of health data, in order to reduce data loss-especially for pregnant women and children aged 0–5-and to improve service delivery at the community level, particularly in rural areas.
Furthermore, the main objective is to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality through early identification of risks and timely life-saving interventions. In addition, "E-Health Mom" generates accurate, real-time data from the community level. The system is also integrated with AI capabilities, which support improved planning, monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making across all TibaSalama project sites.
